The warning was issued by the Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management Authority on the basis of information provided by the Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE).
"People living in snow-bound Nowgam and Kaiyan areas have been advised to take precautions," a spokesman said.
High-altitude areas of the Valley, including the famous ski resort of Gulmarg, recorded fresh snowfall since wee hours today.
Srinagar and other plain areas were also lashed by intermittent rains.
