"In wake of weather predictions by the meteorology department, deputy commissioner, Doda Bhupinder Kumar has issued avalanche warning as the climate is likely to deteriorate from Feb 1 to 3 in avalanche prone areas of the district which are above the altitude of 2500 meters," an official spokesman said here today.
The deputy commissioner has advised the people living in the avalanche prone areas to temporarily leave their houses and evacuate to safer places.
Kumar has also directed the officers to ensure that there is no disruption of essential services, power and water supply, health care services and that there is no shortage of food grains and kerosene oil in the district.
