Baalu wins over Palanimanickam ?

Former union minister and DMK candidate for the Thanjavur Lok Sabha constituency T R Baalu seemed to have overcome the protests to his nomination with his arch-rival and district party Secretary S S Palanimanickam, who lost the battle for the ticket, according him a warm reception.
Both Palanimanickam and Baalu were fighting hard to get the Thanjavur seat before the latter won the tussle with the party deciding to field him in Thanjavur.
The enraged supporters of Palanimanickam even burnt the effigy of Baalu at several places here protesting against the fielding of Baalu in the constituency, held by their leader.

Palanimanickam gave Baalu a warm welcome when the latter visited party's office here for a meeting with DMK functionaries.
