The singer, who is contesting on a BJP ticket from Asansol Lok Sabha seat, alleged that the miscreants abused and heckled him and his supporters and pelted stones at them.
The Ranigunj police station was informed following which additional police personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the singer, police sources said.
Supriyo alleged that the policemen escorting the roadshow remained silent spectators and claimed that three BJP supporters were injured in the stone pelting.
BJP supporters blocked the Bankura road in the Egra area demanding arrest of the miscreants.
Local TMC leader Senapati Mondal that his party was not associated with the incident and the BJP was trying to derive mileage.
