Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Finance Department to make regular budgetary provision in the state's annual Budget for the purchase of land for the cemeteries and burial grounds.
This decision was taken by the Chief Minister in a meeting with the delegation of State Minorities Commission led by its Chairman Munawar Massih here, an official release said.
Conceding another demand of the delegation, the Chief Minister also agreed to allot 1695 square yards of land for the construction of "Massih Bhawan" at Amritsar as the state government has already allotted Rs 25 lakh for this purpose.
Likewise, Badal also ordered the Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur to hand over the possession of 'Massih Bhawan', which is under construction, to the society overseeing the project.
The Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the completion of construction works on the project at the earliest.
