After 'Dabbang 2', Nikitin Dheer is playing a baddie again in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express' and the actor feels that villains are making a comeback in Bollywood.
Nikitin made his debut in 'Jodhaa Akbar' and was later a part of projects likes 'Mission Istaanbul' and 'Ready'.
In Rohit Shetty directed 'Chennai Express', the actor plays a South Indian character called 'Tangaballi'.
"Earlier we had seen Amrish Puri, Gulshan Grover and others playing baddie to the core. In between there were no villains. But now the old culture of baddies seems to be back," Nikitin, son of popular TV and film actor Pankaj Dheer, told PTI.
Though he has mostly played negative roles on-screen, Nikitin wants to add more variety to his resume.
"There is no fascination to play only negative roles. I think of being part of good projects. I am waiting to be a part of meaty roles," he said.
For his role of Tangaballi, he not only had to work on language but also on his body. Nikitin was required to put on 20 kilos for the role so as to look intimidating.
"Gaining weight was not a problem but learning Tamil was. I had to put in effort to learn Tamil. To learn the language, get words and accent right was a little challenging," he added.
'Chennai Express' stars Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan in lead roles and is slated for release on August 8.
