A local court today rejected bail plea of eight persons arrested for rioting in violence-hit Kawal village of the district.
Chief Judicial Magistrate K P Singh turned down the bail plea of the eight accused booked for rioting, taking out processions, carrying weapons and blocking roads and highways in the area on August 29.
While returning from a cremation, the accused had last week attacked and damaged a number of houses and shops belonging to members of a particular community.
Tension had erupted in the village after three persons were killed in a minor dispute following collision of two motorbikes.
