Ballal takes charge as MUDA chairman

Senior Congress leader Suresh Ballal took charge as chairman of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) here today.
Ballal, who has served in the same post once earlier, was recently appointed to the post by the state government.
Speaking to reporters after taking over charge, he said he was chosen for the post though he never was an aspirant for it.
Now that he was given posting, he assured that he would do his best to do justice to the job.
Ballal announced certain development projects for the city's infrastructure.
The task of setting up two residential layouts in the city would be completed once the land issues were cleared, he assured.

He also said that steps would be taken to beautify the city by planting saplings on dividers.

The musical fountain project at Kadri too would be completed at the earliest as part of the beautification.
He would work along with the city corporation as well as legislators to attract more industries, particularly information technology, to the city and make it vibrant.
He also shared a concept of building a multi-storied parking area in the city.
