Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Dass Tandon, who died in Raipur today, will be cremated here on August 16.
The mortal remains of the governor were flown to the Air Force Station in Ambala tonight. From there, the body was taken to Chandigarh.
Several ministers and political leaders paid their last respects to the departed leader here.
Tandon, 90, breathed his last at the state-run Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur where he was rushed in the morning after he complained of uneasiness.
He was one of the founding members of Jan Sangh.
