"The unrest in Bangladesh has not affected relations between the BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGD) . To be honest the relations between the two forces are at all time best," BSF ADG B D Sharma said.
Meanwhile, in order to develop better coordination with the locals in areas bordering the state with Bangladesh, BSF authorities were stressing on teaching jawans Bengali, Sharma said.
"We have put up various posters in Devnagari and SMS language almost in all the BOPs and barracks so that jawans, who come from different parts of India, so that they can learn the basics of Bengali," he said.
The BSF has taken up 'Darpan' to help poor villagers suffering from cleft in the bordering areas and till date more than 100 patients have been treated successfully.
