Besides these leaders, those from AIFB, RSP, CPI (Marxist Leninist) would also take part in the congress, being hosted here for the first time by the local unit, party's Puducherry state committee Secretary R Viswanathan said.
He told reporters here that national level leaders of Left parties would felicitate delegates on the opening day. Party General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy would inaugurate the congress, he said.
CPI national council would meet on Mar 24 to give finishing touches to the programme chalked out for the five day Congress, he said.
Viswanathan claimed that the Congress would herald joint efforts for broadening, expanding and consolidating the Left unity to fight the 'rightist communal offensive' and to pave the way for building up a left democratic alternative.
