At a meeting of Board of Directors of Bayer CropScience held here, Patel was appointed as Non-Executive Director and elected Chairman with immediate effect, a company statement said here.
Patel is Chairman and Managing Director of Zydus Cadila.
With an experience spanning over 40 years in the Indian pharmaceutical industry, Patel combines both research and techno-commercial expertise, the release said.
Patel is also Chairman of Bayer Zydus Pharma Private Ltd - a joint venture between Bayer (South East Asia) Pte Ltd and Cadila Healthcare Ltd.
