BDL, BEL present dividend cheques to govt

State-run Bharat Dynamics Limited today paid a final dividend of Rs 11.10 crore to the government, taking the total amount to a little over Rs 69 crore.
Besides, Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) paid a total dividend of 233 per cent to the Government of India for 2013-14. S K Sharma, CMD, BEL, presented the 173 per cent final dividend cheque of over Rs 103.82 crore to the Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, an official statement said.
The cheque of Hyderabad based Bharat Dynamics Limited was given by its CMD S N Mantha, and Director (Finance) S V Subba Rao. BDL has achieved a record sales turnover of Rs 1,780 crore and Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 509 crore during 2013-14.
Earlier during February 2014, an interim dividend of Rs 58 crore was paid. The total dividend for the year 2013-14 is Rs 69.11 crore.
G Mohan Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production) and A K Gupta Additional Secretary (Defence Production) amongst other senior officers of Ministry of Defence were present on the occasion.
Defence Secretary R K Mathur also presented a cheque of Rs 10,41,607 to Jaitley as contribution towards Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
This amount was voluntarily contributed by the employees of Ministry of Defence (Sectt) towards Prime Minister's Relief Fund for carrying out relief works in Jammu & Kashmir.
