Sharing his experiences of life and mantra of success, former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam today asked students to inculcate courage to think different, to invent, to travel into an unexplored path, to discover the impossible, to combat the problems and succeed.
Interacting with students of CMK National Girls College here, Kalam delivered a speech on the topic "I am born with wings".
Addressing the students and teachers, he said that the ignited mind of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth, under the earth and above the earth.
Discussing the criteria for achievement for youth, he said that there are four proven steps for it, the first one is to have an aim in life before 20 years of age, second being, acquiring knowledge continuously, thirdly hard work towards the aim and last, perseverance to defeat the problem and succeed.
When students leave their schools, a great friend is accompanying them. That friend is - knowledge, he said, adding he gave the knowledge equation, that is --
Knowledge = Creativity + Righteousness + Courage
He said that learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes you great. The next component of knowledge is righteousness.
He also asked the students to plant at least five trees and nurture them.
Former President took the oath with the students and asked them to have a goal and work hard to achieve that goal.
He said try to save or better someone's life, without any discrimination of caste, creed, language religion or state.
