A function would be held at the Academy office at Attawar in the city on October 3, followed by programmes at various centres for a week, Academy president Mohammed Hanif, told reporters here today.
The Beary Language Day is being celebrated to commemorate the formation of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy on October 3, 2007.
District Wakf advisory committee president S M R Rashid would inaugurate the programme.
Various competitions would be organised for students and the public during the week-long programme to be held in three districts from October 3 to 9.
Individuals who had made significant contributions to the Beary language would be honoured during the programme, he said.
