The notice was issued by Returning Officer Naval Kishor Ram to Dr Ashok Bolde yesterday.
"Dr Bolde is given four days to reply to the notice. If found guilty, appropriate action will be taken against him," Ram said today.
According to the officer, Dr Bolde conducted interview of candidates for the contractual post of Medical Social Worker at the blood bank in civil hospital on March 5 even as election code was in force.
Beed went to polls on April 17 along with 19 seats across Maharashtra during the penultimate phase.
The Returning Officer took the action on the basis of reports having appeared in some local newspapers earlier on the conduct of the interview.
The civil surgeon could not be reached for comment.
