Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh wants to have a classic and simple look for his wedding while his soon-to-be wife actress Geeta Basra has opted for a traditional look.
Harbhajan will tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend Geeta on October 29 in Jalandhar. Their wedding outfits are being styled by ace designer Archana Kochhar.
"Geeta wanted an extremely traditional look for all the important occasions, so we decided to go for lehengas, attached dupatta and a crop-top blouse with an Indian work on it. Geeta was specific about her colours. Harbhajan's brief was classic and simple," Kochhar said in a statement here.
"The wedding lehenga will be in traditional red-and-gold combination accessorised by a 'nath', a 'matha patti' and a 'tikka' with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble. The reception lehenga will be in electric blue colour with mirror work and sequins," she said.
Harbhajan is keeping his look simple and elegant with minimal embroidery on the wedding outfit.
"An off-white self-on-self embroidered sherwani with an ornate red sword is designed for Harbhajan Singh, who very keenly took part in the selection of his outfits. For the Gurudwara, he will sport an achkan with breeches or churidaar, and a turban," Kochhar said.
Renowned Narayan Jewellers Ketan and Jatin Chokshi of Vadodara are designing the jewellery.
The wedding celebrations will be spread over five days, including mehendi, sangeet, pheras and reception, which will take place in Delhi on November 1.
The reception is likely to be attended by Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and many Bollywood celebrities.
