In his new role, Wimsatt will be responsible for operations, merchandising, including marketing and supply chain and logistics functions, the company said in a statement issued here today.
Commenting on the appointment, Bharti Retail MD and CEO Raj Jain said: "The appointment of Craig is in line with our commitment to operate world-class stores for our customers. I am confident Craig's rich experience across diverse geographies and functions will add immense value to Bharti Retail's ambitious growth plans."

Like Jain, Wimsatt was also associated with Bharti-Walmart JV.
In October last year, Bharti Enterprises and Walmart called off their six-year old JV to pursue businesses independently.
Wimsatt will report to Jain.
Bharti Retail currently operates 212 stores in neighbourhood and compact hypermarket formats across 11 states, it added.
