Apna Dal MP Anupriya Patel today attacked party legislature Harivansh Singh alleging that he was maligning her image, with the Pratapgarh MP rubbishing the charge.
"Party MP Harivansh Singh is making statements maligning my image. He is involved in spreading rumours against me," Anupriya told reporters here.
She claimed that Singh was using her sister Pallavi Patel, who has been made party Vice President "against" the party's constitution and creating dispute.
"The MP is working on directions of some parties, which are afraid of increasing popularity of Apna Dal," she added.
"I have already been elected the President by workers and the EC was informed in August last year about it. I have sent all the papers to the EC in February and the matter is pending before it," the Mirzapur MP added.
"I am moving forward with ideology of my father Sonelal Patel and workers are with me," she said.
Apna Dal president Krishna Patel, who is also mother of Anupriya had earlier claimed that she has expelled her from the party.
Meanwhile, Apna Dal MP, Singh has termed the allegations against him as baseless.
"The allegations made against me are baseless. Anupriya is like my daughter and I have done a lot. I had supported her in assembly elections, when she contested from Rohaniya seat in 2012. She should not forget what I have done for her," Singh said in a statement issued here.
He said that he was devoted to the Apna Dal and would continue to work under the party president Krishna Patel.
