Percussionist Pt Bickram Ghosh has said he is working on an internationally collaborative work with popular Spanish singer Mar?a del Mar Fern?ndez to produce Indo-Spanish fusion soundscape.
"I am currently working on several projects which includes an international collaboration with top Spanish singer Maria del Mer, who had delivered a track in Zoya Akhtar directed Hindi film 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'," Bickram told told PTI here on Monday.
"While Maria had visited the city and my place six-seven months back and the process started, we will now develop the sound track in full form. It is going to be Indo-Spanish fusion soundscape," said Bickram whose band 'Rhythmscape' had performed with Sting, Phil Collins, Norah Jones and Bob Dylan. I
"We will basically explore each other's collaboration space, where we will be working with different sound effects. We will be mixing Indian sound with Spanish flamenco," he said.
Bickram also talked about his 10-song basic album on Bollywood oldies in collaboration with Sonu Nigam where retro music has been recreated to give it a lounge feel.
"We are collaborating with foreign artistes. For instance while recreating Anmol Ghadi's 'Jawan Hai Mohabbat' by Noor Jehan, we have made Grammy winner George Brooks play the saxophone," he said.
"Sonu's association with me is long-standing. I think, in a sense, we understand and complement each other as musicians of different disciplines but having the same contemporary mind-set," he said.
On the upcoming Hindi movie 'Band of Maharajas', he said, "It is a musical film where I am cast as an Afghan musician, a percussionist."
"I am associated with three Hindi films as its music director and in one of them, the 'Band Of Maharajas', I also face the camera," he said.
"The film is a little bit on terrorism and how it is countered by music," he said adding this was his second film after Bengali film 'Hotath Neerar Jonnyo' in 2004.
