Bid to smuggle cough syrup foiled in J-K's Kathua

Excise department sleuths seized 900 bottles of codeine phosphate syrup at a check point in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Monday, officials said.

The vehicle carrying the contraband items was seized and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act registered in this connection, they said.

The consignment was seized from the vehicle during checking in Lakhanpur.
