Horticulture Minister Jitendra Awhad told reporters here that he recently met Bachchan in this connection and that the actor accepted his request to promote horticulture in the state.
Awhad said Bachchan's support will help the sector to get better market in the state.
"A meet with the minister to promote horticulture in Maharashtra... Best mangoes, pomegranate, cheeku, grapes, onions, tomatoes et al," Bachchan had tweeted two days ago.
The septuagenarian actor promoted tourism in Gujarat in past and had been the brand ambassador of Uttar Pradesh.
