"Hemlock Grove" actor Bill Skarsgard is in negotiations to take part in the final installment of "Divergent" movie franchise, "Allegiant - Part 1" and "Allegiant - Part 2".
In the two-part film, Skarsgard will join the newly-added star, Jeff Daniels, who will play David, the leader of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, reported Ace Showbiz.
The film is based on the third book in Veronica Roth's best-selling "Divergent" trilogy. In the sequel of "The Divergent Series: Insurgent", Skarsgard will join the returning stars, including Shailene Woodley who reprises her role as Tris Prior, Theo James who stars as Four, Ansel Elgort who plays Caleb Prior and Miles Teller who portrays Peter.
Directed by Robert Schwentke, "Allegiant" focuses on Tris, a teenager who doesn't belong to any one of the factions. She will decode the mystery behind the creation of the faction. The idea comes from Tris' assumption that the Bureau does not necessarily hold everyone's best interests at heart.
Doug Wick, Lucy Fisher and Pouya Shahbazian will produce the movie while Noah Oppenheim ("The Maze Runner") is set to write the script. "Allegiant - Part 1" is targeted for a release on March 18, 2016 with the second part following on March 24, 2017.
Skarsgard, who is best known for his role on "Hemlock Grove", also had roles in some films and TV series such as "Anna Karenina", "Battle Creek" and "Emperor".
