Biopic on Bhupen Hazarika is complex yet fantastic: Prem Soni

Director Prem Soni, who is making a biopic on the legendary musician Bhupen Hazarika, says the film is complex, complicated and fantastic.
The film chronicles the love story of late Hazarika and his companion for 40 years, Kalpana Lajmi. Names of actors like Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh have cropped up for the lead but Prem has rubbished such rumours.
"We have not thought of any actors. Till the time I don't finish the final draft of the script it wouldn't be right to name any actors for the biopic," Prem told PTI.
"We will go for an established actor as the canvas of the film is huge. It is a complex, complicated and fantastic film," Prem who had last directed Preity Zinta's debut production, "Ishkq In Paris" said.

Lajmi is actively working on the script with Prem.
"The scripting is still on. Kalpanaji is actively part of this project. She is an important part of this film. Without her support I don't think I can make this film as it is her story," Prem said.
"It is a crucial film. He is a legend to make a film on him is difficult and challenging," he said.
If all goes well, then the film should go on the floors by this year end.
