"Jain submitted his nomination papers in two sets to Returning Officer and Principal Secretary of State Assembly Bhagwan Dev Israni," a BJP release said here today.
The seat fell vacant after senior BJP leader Kaptan Singh Solanki was appointed Governor of Haryana.
Today was the last day to file nominations.
Scrutiny of nominations will be done tomorrow and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is September 15.
If necessary, polling will be held for the by-poll on September 22, sources said.
