At a meeting between BJP national secretary and in-charge of Bengal Siddharth Nath Singh and state office bearers, Singh asked the latter to work hard in Bengal and use the political situation in favour of BJP.
"We have called all the general secretaries and leaders to Delhi on March 17-18 for a meeting with our party president Amit Shah and prepare the road map for the next Assembly polls. We will present him with the draft blueprint," Singh told PTI.
"When a state leader asked Singh that there is perception among the public that Roy will join BJP, he said the official party line is that BJP will not accept any Saradha tainted leaders and it is the duty of the state leaders to convey this message to the cadres and masses," the leader said on the condition of anonymity.
Another senior BJP leader, who refused to be named, said Singh has expressed his displeasure over not using the present political situation and vacuum in Bengal politics.
"He has asked us to work hard and achieve the goal. He also pointed out that the state BJP has been helped in every way by the central leadership in terms of both resources and backing," the leader said.
