Demanding that the bank account of Trinamool Congress be sealed following the arrest of two party MPs in Saradha scam, BJP today said TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee's "intolerance" and "arrogance" would be the reason for the party's "downfall" in the next Assembly polls.
"If the bank account of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan clubs are sealed after the arrest of an East Bengal official in Saradha scam, why not the bank account of Trinamool Congress be sealed? Two Rajya Sabha MPs of their party have also been arrested in the scam," BJP's West Bengal unit president Rahul Sinha said.
Criticising Banerjee's choice of words while attacking BJP leadership yesterday at a party meet, Sinha said, "The Left leaders also used to utter such inappropriate words when their regime was about to end. Mamata Banerjee is also doing the same thing which is signalling that the end of TMC regime is very near."
"Mamata Banerjee's intolerance and arrogance will cause the downfall of the party," Sinha said.
He denied Banerjee's allegation that BJP leadership was behind the arrest of TMC MP Srinjoy Bose in Saradha scam, with an aim to bring down TMC's number in the Rajya Sabha.
"The CBI investigation into the Saradha scam is going on by the order of the honourable Supreme Court. So it has nothing to do with BJP leadership. And the allegation is baseless. Rather I would like to ask who arrested TMC MP Kunal Ghosh? It was Banerjee's police administration that arrested him," said Sinha.
