"People of Jammu, including farmers residing along the borders, have been living like "slaves" and die due to continuous cross firing and mine blasts," said national executive member and former state president Shamsher Singh Manhas.
"The UPA at the Centre and the state's coalition government have time for corruption and scams, but are least bothered about law abiding citizens," he alleged.
Senior BJP leader Ranjit Singh, who led the protests, said the people living along the border areas have been subjected to total neglect and discrimination.
Singh also alleged that people have not been compensated till date for the agricultural land acquired by Army.
National Executive Member and MLA Ashok Khajuria warned of more protests and said the BJP stands with the people of Kandi and other border areas.
