With BJP stepping up attack on her government on a range of issues, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today accused the opposition party of levelling "baseless allegations" and said people of the city are well aware of the "reality".
"Those who are levelling baseless allegations are defaming the city of Delhi. They levlled allegations after the Commonwealth Games, which were dismissed by the agencies like CAG and Shanglu committe. They have once again started a similar tirade against the government", Dikshit said.
She was addressing a function after laying foundation stone of a 2.1 km-long corridor between Prembari Pul to Azadpur on Ring Road in North Delhi area.
"The people are well aware of the reality and know well about those who are like professionals in levelling charges," she said.
Dikshit's attack on BJP came a day after senior BJP leader Vijender Gupta filed a complaint with CBI seeking a probe against Dikshit for alleged misuse of public funds for an advertisement campaign ahead of assembly polls in 2008 for which the Lokayukta had indicted her last month.
On BJP's promise of reducing power tariff by 30 per cent if it comes to power in the assembly polls later this year, Dikshit made light of the assurance and asked the party to give her the "magic wand" so that the rates could be brought down.
"We have worked hard to ensure round-the-clock power supply. The government would not tolerate any defficiency on the part of discoms and take action if they fail to ensure round-the-clock power supply," she said.
