Union Minister Ram Shankar Katheria today alleged that the ongoing delimitation work in the wake of upcoming zila panchayat elections was being done "wrongly" and "under pressure" of the ruling SP and said the BJP could move court against this.
"Samajwadi Party is pressurising officials for conducting the delimitation work wrongly so as to post victory in the coming elections," the MoS for Human Resources Development told newspersons during a visit here.
"Our party believed that if officials do not pay attention to our objections, the BJP can also move the court against this delimitation," he said.
He alleged that while several wards, also in Etah, comprise the "areas of 27-28 kshetra panchayat members, the regions having dominance of SP consist that of 20 to 22 members...Even the rules have been set aside by them."
On the losses to farmers due to recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms, he charged that state government is not concerned and has not carried out on the spot assessment.
He called for providing compensation also to the farmers dying of shock who had raised loans for their crop.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already assured that the Centre will promptly accept the proposal sent for providing relief package, he said.
To a question on leakage of Provincial Civil Services question paper paper last month, Katheria demanded a CBI inquiry into it.
