BJP MP Parvesh Verma is among three government nominees appointed in the managing committee of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), according to an official document.
Verma, son of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma, Sunil Kumar Yadav -- a legal professional -- and Rajan Tiwari were appointed as government nominee, as per a letter issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MHUA) on Wednesday.
DDCA's managing committee should have three government nominees -- one each from Housing and Urban Affairs (HUA) Ministry, Sports Ministry and Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The document said as the term of present nominees had expired, Verma, Yadav and Tiwari were appointed.
The fresh appointment is for a period of two years, it said, adding that the government has a right to curtail or extend the period of nomination.
The three nominees will have full voting rights in all the meetings.
They will also be nominated as full-fledged member with full voting rights to any committee, sub-committee or group that might be constituted by the DDCA, the document read.
They can resign from the managing committee of the DDCA with prior approval of the government.
