Union minister Kalraj Misra blamed the ruling Samajwadi Party and Opposition Bahujan Samaj Party for the "bad shape of affairs" in Uttar Pradesh, as he said BJP is only alternative to bring development in the state.

"SP and BSP are responsible for the bad shape of affairs in Uttar Pradesh...BJP is the only alternative for bringing good governance, rule of law, and development," the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister said last night here.

"It is necessary that BJP comes to power in UP for giving momentum to development and taking the state to new heights of progress," Misra said.

The BJP leader termed as "unnecessary" the debate around Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar being prime ministerial candidate in 2019 general elections.

"Narendra Modi is the prime minister as of now and will remain the prime minister in future too," he said.

Attacking Congress and its leaders, he said they have had a "culture" of taking commissions and after the probe into the AgustaWestland deal it (Congress) will once again be "exposed like at the time of Bofors scandal".

The MSME Minister said small industries will be set up in large numbers to overcome the backwardness of eastern UP and creating more job opportunities.

On Ram temple issue, he said this alongwith Article 370 are "national issues".
