During the last 64 years, elections to urban local bodies have been held only four times in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas said.
73rd and 74th amendments were implemented in rest of the country, but Jammu and Kashmir government never tried to implement it here, Manhas said.
Manhas also alleged,"there have been discrepancies in voter lists and voter identity cards."
The booth level officials deputed by the government are unwilling to hear the public grievances, he said adding the NC-Congress coalition government has come up with repeated excuses for its failure. PTI AB KAS
