Aiming to achieve 50 plus seats in 2017 Assembly polls, Himachal Pradesh BJP today said to make it possible, it has planned visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party's National President Amit Shah to give a boost to the campaign to dislodge the Congress government.
In the recent three-day state executive meet at Una, it was decided to gear up the party for the next year's polls and step up campaign against the government, state party chief Satpal Singh Satti today said.
He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first visit is slated for October 18, during which he will inaugurate three power projects while his second visit will follow shortly to lay foundation of Central University at Dharamshala, AIIMS at Bilaspur and launching of Smart City Dharmasala.
"The prime minister's visit to dedicate 800-MW Koldam, 412-MW Rampur and 520-MW Parvati Stage-III projects on October 18 has been finalised, but his visit to Nahan on the same day is yet to be confirmed, Satti told reporters
BJP chief Amit Shah would also be here on a three-day visit to Himachal shortly to gear up the party for polls.
"The manner in which Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh is touring the state and making all sorts of announcements, snap Assembly polls can't be not ruled out, but BJP is prepared to face the polls anytime and oust Congress government," he said.
Attacking Singh, Satti said he was involved in his cases and governance was suffering.
The state BJP had formed a charge sheet committee under the chairmanship of veteran Congress leader Suresh Bharadwaj and its members would visit all districts in November to collect evidence and documents of acts of omission and commissions and get feedback from the people and the charge sheet would be ready by December 15, he said.
It would be submitted to the Governor on December 24on completion of four years of Congress government in power and provide inputs for launchingthe campaign to oust congress from power.
The party would organise year-long programmes in run up to the election and celebrate birth centenary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay on April 6, 2017 and birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar as "Samarasata Divas" on April 14.
Besides, martyrdom day of Shyama Prasad Mukerjee would be observed on June 23, Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 as "Swachhta divas" and Kargil Victory day on July 26.
Satti said the alleged corruption, failure of governance, mafia raj and victimisation of political opponents would be in focus during the campaign againstthe chief minister.
