Strains seem to have appeared in the alliance between BJP and TDP in Andhra Pradesh over the choice of certain candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly polls in the state.
Sources said TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu is miffed at the choice of BJP candidates in some constituencies, including grant of party ticket to former Union Minister and her sister -in-law D Purandeswari who had recently switched over from Congress.
Naidu is said to have expressed his displeasure over BJP's choice of candidates in some constituencies.
Sources say Naidu, who is married to Purandeswari's sister, is miffed at nomination to her from Rajampeta Lok Sabha seat after shifting her from Visakhapatnam seat.
Sources said senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar has rushed to Hyderabad to talk to Naidu.
"The alliance will remain and there is no question of breaking it," BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said.
"How will they win the assembly seats? It will only be detrimental to our alliance," Naidu reportedly remarked while talking to partymen while interacting through teleconferencing.
The TDP supremo will hold another round of teleconference with his leaders to take a call on the electoral tie-up with BJP in the wake of the growing unrest in his party, sources said.
