Targeting BJP over its humiliating defeat in the Delhi Assembly polls, the Samajwadi Party today said the mood across the country was changing as people have realised that the saffron party is only good at making false promises.
Speaking to reporters in Firozabad, SP's national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said Aam Aadmi Party's massive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections was people's verdict against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "dictatorship".
"The victory of AAP in the Delhi Assembly elections is the outcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dictatorship," Ram Gopal said.
The promises made by the Prime Minister before the Lok Sabha elections have not been fulfilled even nine months after the formation of the government, he said.
In Lakhimpur Kheri, senior SP leader and UP minister Shivpal Singh Yadav also lashed out at BJP saying that the party came to power at the Centre on false promises and assurances but now their lies have been exposed.
"People of Delhi have outrightly rejected the BJP. The national mood is changing against that party owing to the falsehood which BJP has been thriving on since parliamentary polls," Shivpal told mediapersons on the sidelines of 85th annual general meet (AGM) of the district cooperative bank.
Alleging that BJP government was working for capitalists, he said the party won the elections on "money-power and now they were working only for them."
"What BJP has witnessed in Delhi is not a surprise as all its promises have proved hollow," he said while accusing BJP of being a "communal" outfit that wants to divide the country.
Lauding the Akhilesh Yadav government in UP, he said, "The SP government has fulfilled all its promises in the three years it has been in power. All its schemes and programmes are benefiting the people.
