BJP should introspect on ZP poll results: Goa Dy CM

BJP leader and Goa deputy Chief Minister Francis D'Souza today said the party should examine the reasons for its alliance's "not-so-good" performance in the zilla panchayat polls here.
The BJP-led alliance won 25 seats while independents won 24 seats in the local polls.
"We should accept the results but should examine and find out the reasons behind not-so-good performance of the alliance," D'Souza said this evening while speaking to reporters.
When pointed out that the party had earlier presented the election as a "mid-term appraisal" of the BJP government in the state, D'Souza said, "If this is mid-term appraisal, then we don't qualify."

Further, D'Souza said it was expected that the things would go wrong in Goa after Manohar Parrikar resigned as the Chief Minister (to become the Union Defence Minister).
BJP has formed alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Vikas Party.
D'Souza was in the race for CM's post after Parrikar quit. However, the senior BJP leader was disappointed as the party chose Laxmikant Parsekar over him.
