Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had yesterday sacked Environment and Food Minister Asim Ahmed Khan for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 6 lakh from a builder and recommended a CBI probe into the case.
Addressing a press conference here today, state party chief Satish Upadhyay and Opposition leader Vijender Gupta accused the government of shielding Khan.
"Government tried to save Asim Ahmed Khan till the end. When it felt that the charges of corruption on Khan will become public, only then CM called a press conference and announced his dismissal to show that the party and government is clean," Gupta told reporters here.
