BJP has stepped up its demand for providing more security to Narendra Modi after an unclaimed vehicle was found near the venue of his rally in Uttar Pradesh's Khalilabad constituency this morning.

The party has also said that the government should keep its political differences aside while dealing with the issue of Modi's security.

"The government should ensure Modi's security. A month ago, I led a delegation to the Home Minister (Sushilkumar Shinde) along with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and our national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman and also presented him with a memorandum.

Shinde assured us that there was no need to worry. Two days back there were reports in the media on a possible attack on Modi," party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad told a press conference.

Prasad added that the government should set aside its differences and look into the issue and provide Modi with adequate security.
