Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad to use their goodwill to prepare Muslims for talks on the Ayodhya dispute.

"BJP urges Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad to use their goodwill with the minority Muslims to ready them for talks for an amicable solution of the Ayodhya dispute," Sushil Modi said in a statement here.

"Nitish Kumar, who moved away from conventional political line and supported the surgical strike and demonetisation move, should play a role to rally the Muslims for talks for solution of the Ayodhya dispute," he said.

"This is for the first time the apex court has urged the parties concerned to leave behind their predetermined sectarian views and talk for a solution to the dispute on the basis of facts," Sushil Modi said welcoming the court ruling.
