BJP also slammed the Congress for alleging that the girl involved in the case had been bought by the Gujarat government to stay silent, and said "no one is in the market to purchase Congress's lies anymore".
"When lies become a habit, then you can just keep on spinning off lies. All I am trying to say and there is evidence before you that no one is in the market to purchase Congress's lies anymore. Not even those who have been with the Congress for 15 years," BJP national spokesperson M J Akbar told reporters here.
"They are telling Congress that please for God's sake stop this politics of filth and get back to the politics of issues. But when they have nothing to say on issues, their only recourse is lies... It's sad," he said.
He said that his party "welcomes this revival of good sense and decency in the Indian political discourse".
"The things that we have been saying for long are now registering with the people that Congress is indulging in the politics of personal vendetta... And the change of mood which one is seeing amongst respected leaders is evidence," Akbar said.
"It shows that UPA allies have found sense. They are seeing the truth. This is the politics of vendetta which is the speciality of Congress. Political parties do not want to get involved in it," he added.
