The newly nominated national vice president of BJP, Raghuvar Das, today claimed the party will bag over 50 out of 81 seats in the coming Assembly elections in Jharkhand.
"Considering the mood and enthusiasm among party leaders and workers, I can assure you that BJP will get 50-plus seats and form a government with a clear majority in the next Assembly elections," Das, a two-time Jharkhand BJP president, said addressing a press conference here.
Das said Jharkhand was in the focus of the party leadership due the coming Assembly elections, and it has directed the state leaders to ensure clear majority and to form a government on its own.
"The mood of the people in the country including in Jharkhand is clearly in favour of BJP because of the mandate which brought in political stability, development and good governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the general elections," Das said stressing that people were waiting for the elections in Jharkhand to vote for the BJP.
Political stability, development and good governance were important in the context of Jharkhand, which has witnessed frequent instability ever since the state was carved out of Bihar in 2000, the BJP vice president said, adding, the party would go to the polls as a team.
"I will leave no stone unturned to fulfil the aspirations of the party leadership of winning more than 50 seats in the coming elections," Das said.
Expressing his gratitude to the party national leadership for reposing faith in him, Das assured that BJP workers and activists would not compromise as far as their dignity and respect was concerned.
To a query on the opposition's allegations of accommodating tainted leaders of other parties into the BJP fold, Das denied it.
"There is no opposition within the party nor any tainted leader was inducted," he added.
