Residents of 22nd ward, especially L S Puram and Boriahgouder streets, claimed that they were not getting drinking water for the last few days, police said.
As their complaints to the local councillor and Municipality fell on deaf ears, the protest was staged to bring the matter to authorities' notice, they said.
