Shelton, who successfully hosted the January 24 episode of Saturday Night Live, will play a sheriff in the Western spoof 'Ridiculous 6', according to the Wrap.
It is the first of four original films that Sandler is producing for Netflix.
The other cast members include Taylor Lautner, Luke Wilson, Nick Nolte, comedian Whitney Cummings, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd, Terry Crews, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice.
