: A fire broke out today at "Ezhilagam," a government building here, but there were no casualties, a Fire and Rescue Services official said.
"The fire was noticed on the ground and first floors of Ezhilagam complex. Ten fire tenders have been deployed at the spot with a large posse of fire fighters," S Vijayasekar, Joint Director, Fire and Rescue Services told PTI.
The cause of the fire was not known, he said.
"Now smoke is billowing out and a portion of the structure looks like collapsing. So we are positioning our men and equipment at vantage points," Vijayasekar said.
