A block medical officer (BMO) and his domestic help were caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police here today, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000.
S K Singh, who was posted as BMO at Ghatiya Hospital, sought Rs 3,000 each from contractual doctors Vidya Anjana and Vivek Singh to clear their two months' salary, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basant Shrivastava said.
After they lodged a complaint, the Lokayukta caught Singh accepting the bribe at his residence.
However, the moment Singh saw the Lokayukta team approaching him, he stuffed the money in his servant Bhagwan Singh's shirt pocket.
"We have made Bhagwan Singh also an accused in the case," Shrivastava said.
The DSP said that Bhagwan Singh has been booked under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on.
