Kanwaljit Singh Nagi, a joint general manager at HMT's tractor unit, was found dead near a water tank close to the stores department this morning, police said.
Workers claimed Nagi might have committed suicide due to the non-payment of salaries for the last 20 months.
Mohinder Singh, HMT Karmik Sangh president, said staff at the Pinjore unit of HMT have not been paid their salaries for the last 20 months.
HMT workers have planned a march to the Haryana Assembly tomorrow to press their demand for the "revival" of the factory and clearance of their salary arrears.
