Body of married woman found in field

A 28-year-old married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a field on the outskirts of a village here with her family members alleging that she was strangled by her in-laws, police said.
The victim's father has claimed his daughter was strangled by her in-laws when she had gone to visit their house in the Sikanderpur area, they said.
The woman was estranged from her husband -- with whom she had a seven-month-old daughter after their marriage three years back -- and had moved to her parents' house.
SP Manoj Kumar Jha said the victim's family has claimed that harassment by her in-laws for dowry had prompted her to move to her parents' home in December last year along with her daughter.

Family members said that accompanied by her teenaged brother, the victim had yesterday gone to her in-laws' place and taken her baby daughter along. But the in-laws allegedly thrashed the woman and her brother and chased them away after snatching the baby from them, Jha said.
But the woman had then returned to her in-laws to get her daughter back and that was when her brother, whom she sent home, had last seen her before her body was found this morning on the outskirts of Kudiapur village, police said.
The SP said an FIR has been lodged in this connection in which her brothers-in-law Jeetu and Munna have been named.
