The woman had allegedly jumped into the river on Monday and her ID card and handbag were found on the banks of the river in Mojibaba Ghat area and a rescue operation was started.
The body of 22-year-old Kanika Jain, a Science Masters student and resident of Mahaveer Nagar area, was recovered from deep waters of Chambal river, said Ghanshyam Meena, SHO at Kishorepura police station.
The woman had allegedly jumped into the river on Monday and her handbag and IDs were found nearby following which the rescue teams were deployed for the search operation, he said.
The deceased was disabled and was also suffering from some disease, he said, adding, after she went missing, a report was lodged in Mahaveernagar police station.
