Bomb-like object recovered from forest in Assam

A bomb like object was recovered from the forest area in Sivasagar district near inter-state border with Arunachal Pradesh, police said today.
A police team recovered the bomb like object from the forest near Borpatra tea estate last night, Dibrugarh SP Bir Bikram Gogoi said.
The area was cordoned off and Army's bomb disposal team requisitioned to defuse it, he said.
Gogoi said as per intelligence input, ULFA had planned to target security forces' vehicles and railway bridges in the district.
